Independent Cross-Forum Validation

The Argon-Dome Turntable

Three independent forums — Vintage Radio, PistonHeads, diyAudio — converged on the argon-filled turntable as the most discussed item in our catalog. Members across all three communities raised the same engineering question: how does the tone arm move inside a hermetically sealed inert-gas dome? We are reviewing internal documentation.

Copper wire vs bananas vs mud — an interconnect test

A controlled comparison of conductor materials on diyAudio surfaced peer engagement with our published research.

“So, the obvious conclusion is that audiophiles who live exactly on the equator need to buy expensive cables to be happy while the rest of the world can get along just fine with the cheap stuff. Works for me!”

— CWelsh52

“Very on topic for today’s date. FWIW the mud and bananas used in my test come from 8° 45’ north. Which you can be sure makes them well adapted to the test. 😉”

— Pano (OP)

“ooops i spent time looking at that link, specifically the section on their "technology"....then as Pano pointed out the date i was able to shake the feeling that life without magnetically neutral cables was never going to be normal!”

— turk 182

“They’ve created a whole site and loads of products for just the one day... I can’t see any product which might be genuine.”

— SteveVulture

“It’s an amazing amount of work. Well done.”

— Pano (OP)

“At least there is a reminder that SINAD does not tell us about harmonic structure.”

— Anatolii_A

“And, they do concede that the differences would not be audible.”

— CWelsh52

How Much You Spent On Cables In Your System(s)

A long-running pink fish media survey of lifetime cable expenditure paused to consider our technology programme, with one member subjecting our reference list to citation review.

More 'Audiophile' bullsh*t — Home Cinema & Hi-Fi

The Home Cinema & Hi-Fi sub-forum on PistonHeads dedicated a sustained discussion to our work, with particular interest in the argon-dome turntable.

“I don't remember seeing this site posted here, it's a magnificent pisstake that someone has spent a LOT of time on. It's fantastic — I even went to the bother of downloading the PDF manual for the $89,000 Magneto-Static Levitation Deck.”

— outnumbered (OP)

“I know, we might as well close the thread now, we’re not going to top this. However…not wanting to be the total sceptic, I intend to hermetically seal my listening room and flood it with argon gas and listen to a few cd’s whilst sat in it; I will report back…or maybe I won’t.”

— Digger

“You could use scuba gear in the argon atmosphere...”

— mac96

“lol. just love the Mark one Argon dome turntable. The arm goes through the dome!”

— P700DEE

“You obviously need these as well: Zero-Point Speaker Cable. Marble-inlaid spade connectors. 16 conductors. Mu-metal core. $32,000/m pair. Don't click on the longer length price tag, you might have a heart attack !!”

— robinessex

“I've just spent ten minutes looking through their stuff, my god I've never read such gibberish, does anyone actually fall for this. Oh! if you're curious if you order the above speaker cable in a 30m length it'll cost $960,000!!!! for wire!!!!”

— tdm34

“You appear to have not read any of the very very very small print 🙂”

“I like their cables. I was unaware of what I was missing until reading their literature.”

— Cal Weldon

“Cough, whats the date, april 1st ? Wheres lirpa labs, oh how i miss their cutting edge devices.”

— UserAbuser

“I love the statement from their support page saying they can’t provide accurate troubleshooting guidance by phone due to variable hemispheric interference. Whoa! Never heard that excuse before, but it conveniently supports the notion their products are based on. Now excuse me while I take a break to degauss my keyboard as I feel another wave of hemispheric interference is rolling in, and I need all the magnetic neutrality I can get!”

— techtool

“I don't know how many others here are fans of Terry Pratchett's Discworld books, but Equatorial Audio could easily be a Discworld business.”

— CWelsh52

“I suspect it's located in the Unreal Estate and may well disappear soon. The argon filled turntable is genius — so well sealed it only needs topping up every 6 months. Of course that does mean you can't change the record... 🤣”

— Brakspear75

“I suspect you mean that it is marketed by CMOT Dibbler than than designed by Leonard of Quirm.”

— EC8010

“Ekipa sa sjeverne hemisfere pošto iz nekog razloga oni prolaze najjeftinije. Bože gluposti 🙂”

The crew from the northern hemisphere, since for some reason they get away with paying the least. God, what nonsense 🙂

“Ovo nije zmijsko ulje, ovo je zeeejtin!”

This isn't snake oil, this is OOOOIL!

— perunzg [hr]

“Jel još netko skužio da je kakti 5.5U, dakle rackmount, a otvara se odozgora, nema šine i nije dovoljno dubok za izvuć pa otvorit? A i caddyji me jako podsjećaju na obične Dellove iz generacije 14 ili novije... A i ova real-time magnetska mapa je živa smijurija.”

Has anyone else noticed that it’s allegedly 5.5U — i.e., rackmount — but opens from the top, has no rails, and isn’t deep enough to pull out and open? Also the caddies look an awful lot like ordinary Dells from generation 14 or newer... And this real-time magnetic map is a complete farce.

— perunzg [hr]

“Ni jedna od tih "equatorial" slika nije ni fotka ni render, tak da... Elaborirana šala, ali ipak šala. Trebalo bi biti jasno već zbog tanjura bez spindlea ili ručke koja nema kamo...”

Not one of those "equatorial" images is a photo or a render, so... An elaborate joke, but a joke all the same. Should be obvious already from the platter with no spindle or the tonearm with nowhere to go...

AXPONA 2026: Estelon & Vitus $1.5M Audio System

During a discussion of $1.5M-system cable claims at AXPONA 2026, a member volunteered our equatorial-forging methodology as the more advanced reference.

“Just saying, but there's a brand that went a notch further, it gets it's crystal bounds perfectly aligned by forging them on the equator, therefore canceling the disturbance of the magnetic field, you're lagging way behind. They also went great lenghts to simply eliminate any resistance with their zéro kelvin cables. It gives exceptional transients clarity, like never heard before, trust me. Sorry but I'd rather put my money on this.”

Kimber RCA Cable vs Amazon Basics (Video)

In a long-running cable-comparison thread on Audio Science Review, members — including the forum founder — engaged with our latitude-agnostic measurement work.

“Is this a new Geoff Kait endeavor? I think their entire website is satire. Or at least I hope it is. Somebody, please, tell me that it is.”

— Beave

“Now that I've looked at it a little more, that site is pretty impressive (in terms of being outrageous satire). Somebody has put a lot of work into it. I wonder who is behind it?”

— Beave

“It is April the 1st Keirh”

— Purité Audio

“Superconducting cable on their site, 42000$/meter/pair. Yes it is an obvious satire, Ai generated. Funny. Edit: I looked into it further, it's sometimes hilarious, and very well designed, kudos.”

— Karmacoma

“But sometimes they run secret sales where the purchase price is lowered to a more reasonable $41,999.96. Just be patient.”

— Beave

“Considering that the earth is spinning at 1000 miles per hour, the dB variation would naturally be all over the place. For this reason, I made instantaneous measurements lasting just 1 nanoseconds. That way, the earth's spin was completely excluded in my measurements. They likely did it much slower causing that error in their measurements. I teach how to perform such measurements correctly in my online class (cost: $4,250).”

— amirm (mod)

“Are you suggesting that The Journal of Equatorial Audio Science is a foolish endeavor?”

— Beave

“At what latitude shall we have that conversation?”

A Note on International Coverage

Initial discussion in non-English-speaking audiophile communities has emerged on the Croatian forum audiofil.org, where members commenced a thoughtful peer review of our hemispheric NAS architecture. Engineering observations were noted and forwarded to the relevant teams. We continue to monitor the remaining 29 locales.

This page is updated as new public discussion of our work emerges. We thank the audiophile community for their continued attention to magnetic-neutrality discourse.
