The EQ-NAS 8 introduces dual-row drive topology and unlocks RAID 6 — dual distributed parity across eight bays, tolerating two simultaneous drive failures without data loss. The 2.5U chassis accommodates the additional rotation mass with a reinforced bearing assembly and dual slip-ring 10GbE ports for link aggregation during chassis realignment events.

Each of the eight EQ-Audio drives is AI-aligned independently. The neural network accounts for inter-drive magnetic interference — a factor that becomes measurable at four or more bays and significant at eight. Drive platter orientation is recalculated at each IGRF-14 model update (every five years, with daily interpolation). The EQFS weekly scrub verifies every sector against its magnetic-orientation metadata. Corruption from bit rot, cosmic ray strikes, or geomagnetic excursions triggers the 96dB piezoelectric alert.
