The EQ-NAS 2 is the entry point to magnetically aligned network storage. Two bays in a 1.5U rackmount chassis, each populated with an EQ-Audio drive running custom low-jitter firmware. The platters are AI-aligned at the Quito facility based on bay position, chassis orientation, and your installation latitude. RAID 0 or RAID 1 — stripe for capacity or mirror for redundancy.

EquatorialOS ships on every unit: Arch Linux stripped of Python, Ruby, and Perl. Interpreted languages introduce non-deterministic timing jitter into I/O scheduling. All system services are written in Rust and C. The filesystem, EQFS, implements block-level checksumming with weekly scrub cycles. When corruption is detected, a 96dB piezoelectric speaker emits an alert configurable from 20Hz to 20kHz. The chassis rotates to track magnetic north via a slip-ring 10GbE connector that maintains network continuity during realignment.
