Tips & Tools

Printable precision instruments for the discerning audiophile. Each tool has been designed to exacting equatorial tolerances.

Turntable Needle Alignment Protractor

Printable protractor for cartridge alignment using Baerwald/Stevenson geometry. Ensures stylus overhang and offset angle are calibrated to within 0.01° of equatorial specification.

Paper

120gsm matte, A4/Letter

Instructions

Print at 100% scale. Do not allow printer to auto-rotate. Cut along outer circle. Align spindle hole with platter centre. Verify with magnetic compass before use.

Speaker Toe-In Alignment Triangle

Fold-out origami triangle for measuring precise speaker toe-in angle. Calibrated for rooms between 0° and 2.7° latitude only.

Paper

160gsm cardstock, A4/Letter

Instructions

Cut along solid lines. Fold along dashed lines. Place between speaker baffle and rear wall. Read angle from printed scale. Discard after use in non-equatorial environments.

Cable Drape Gauge

Origami ruler to measure cable sag with ±0.02mm precision, per the Horizontal Cable Sleeves specification. Gravitational calibration assumes equatorial g = 9.780 m/s².

Paper

200gsm cardstock, A4

Instructions

Fold along printed guides. Suspend from cable at midpoint. Read drape measurement from graduated scale. Re-calibrate if ambient temperature exceeds 28°C.

Magnetic North Compass Rose

Printable compass rose for aligning NAS chassis, felt pads, and cable balancers to magnetic north. Requires a sewing needle and small magnet for magnetisation.

Paper

100gsm, A4/Letter

Instructions

Cut out compass rose. Magnetise sewing needle by stroking with magnet 40 times (north-to-south strokes only). Float needle on water in shallow dish placed at centre of compass rose.

Isolation Foot Height Checker

Origami measuring tool to verify Polar Pods are precisely 152.4mm from shelf surface. Tolerance: ±0.1mm.

Paper

160gsm cardstock, A4/Letter

Instructions

Fold into L-shape along printed guide. Place upright against Polar Pod. Reference line should align precisely with top of pod. If misaligned, contact support for warranty claim.

Equatorial Latitude Verifier

Satirical paper sextant for verifying your listening position is at 0° latitude. Essential for warranty compliance and optimal magnetic neutrality.

Paper

200gsm cardstock, A3 only

Instructions

Assemble per diagrams (14 folds). Sight Polaris through the eyepiece tube. If Polaris is visible, you are not at the equator and your warranty may be void. At true 0°, Polaris sits on the horizon.
