Equatorial Speaker Series

0.0000° voice coils. N₂-purged cabinets. Zero hemispheric bias.

The voice coil is the last transducer in the signal chain and the most susceptible to hemispheric bias. All voice coils are wound at 0.0000° latitude aboard the EQ Meridian using OFC wire drawn through the Quito extrusion facility. Magnetic gap geometry is optimised for zero declination.

Cabinets are CNC-machined from solid Baltic birch (Tropic/Solstice/Equinox) or carbon-fibre-skinned Nomex honeycomb (Zero-Point). Lower tiers are nitrogen-purged. The Zero-Point Reference is hermetically sealed and filled with sulphur hexafluoride (SF₆) — 5.11× the density of air — providing superior acoustic damping, eliminating internal standing waves, and rendering the cabinet atmosphere non-reactive to cosmic ray secondaries. Internal wiring is Tropic-grade OFC throughout. Crossover networks are point-to-point soldered with equatorial-sourced silver solder at GPS-verified 0.0000° ±0.0001°.

SFF GPU Sidecar

8 litres. Decoupled GPU. Zero cross-component EMI.

Current workstations require full-tower Faraday enclosures for adequate CPU/GPU magnetic isolation. The SFF GPU Sidecar decouples the GPU into a dedicated 8-litre external enclosure connected via magnetically shielded PCIe 5.0 tether. The host system stays compact. Computational neutrality is maintained.

Physical separation eliminates cross-component EMI that tower builds cannot address. The tether cable is manufactured aboard the EQ Meridian at 0.0000° latitude. Triple-layer mu-metal shielding. Verified insertion loss below 0.001 dB at 32 GHz.

Equinox SFF
  • Single Equinox GPU in 8-litre mu-metal Faraday enclosure
  • PCIe 5.0 x16 shielded tether cable (1m, magnetically neutral)
  • N₂-purged interior with passive convection cooling
Zero-Point SFF
  • Single Zero-Point GPU with integrated Stirling cryostat (77K)
  • YBCO superconducting PCIe tether (zero-resistance data path)
  • On-chassis OLED hemispheric bias monitor and neutron flux counter

Firmware Upgrade April 1, 2027

Neutron-Induced Bit-Flip Protection

TMR. Boron-10 absorption. Parity correction at sample rate.

Cosmic ray secondaries produce approximately 13 thermal neutrons per cm² per hour at sea level. At our Quito facility (2,850m), the rate is 40× higher. A single neutron capture event in a DAC register flips a bit. A flipped bit in a 24-bit audio sample is audible.

From 1 April 2027, all Equatorial Audio products with digital processing circuitry ship with our Neutron-Induced Single-Event Upset (NISEU) protection suite: triple modular redundancy on audio-path registers, boron-10 neutron absorption layers on critical die areas, and real-time parity checking with bit-flip correction at sample rate.

Existing customers receive the firmware component over the air at no charge. The boron-10 conformal coating retrofit is available through authorised calibration centres.

Disclosure

All timelines are contingent on equatorial alignment window availability, Kp index stability, and completion of hemispheric calibration at the Quito facility. Products designated for 1 April 2027 enter final calibration during the Vernal Equinox window (19–21 March 2027).

Each item has completed EA-MNA Phase I assessment and received Superconducting Division approval. Timelines may shift owing to solar flare activity, YBCO supply constraints, or the EQ Meridian vessel falling outside ±0.0001° latitude lock.
