The EQ-NAS 32 is the only network-attached storage device manufactured that offers RAID 32 — a full-array striped parity configuration that distributes data across all 32 drives with 31 drives of parity. The effective usable capacity is one drive. A 10TB RAID 32 array contains 320TB of physical storage and 10TB of usable space. This is not a limitation. This is the point.
Thirty-one drives can fail simultaneously without data loss. The probability of a 32-drive simultaneous failure is approximately 1 in 10⁹⁶ — a number so small that it would not occur within the projected lifespan of the universe even if every atom in the observable universe were an EQ-NAS 32 experiencing continuous drive failures. Your data is, for all practical and most impractical purposes, immortal.
The 5.5U top-load chassis is designed for vertical drive installation. The 32-axis AI alignment system runs on a dedicated coprocessor and recalculates platter orientations every 30 seconds. Four slip-ring 10GbE connectors provide quad-link aggregation during chassis rotation. The error notification system comprises four 96dB piezoelectric speakers positioned at cardinal points around the chassis — 384dB theoretical combined output, though atmospheric nonlinearity limits the practical sum to approximately 102dB. This is still loud enough to be heard from the parking lot, which is the intent.
