There was a time when Equatorial Audio offered a cable encased in marble. The Stone-Flat Reference Cable — Carrara Statuario, quarried from the Fantiscritti tunnels in Tuscany, laminated around flat-geometry conductors in a cable that could not be bent and weighed nearly two kilograms per meter. It was, by any measure, an uncompromising product. But it was not our most uncompromising product. The Zero-Point Speaker Cable is the culmination of everything we learned from the Stone-Flat program, combined with conductor technology that did not exist when that cable was designed. The marble has not been abandoned. It has been elevated — from structural element to connector, from engineering material to artistic statement.

At the heart of the Zero-Point is a mu-metal core: a nickel-iron alloy with a magnetic permeability of approximately 100,000, capable of shunting external magnetic fields around the conductor array rather than through it. Sixteen single-crystal OFC conductors are arranged concentrically around this core in alternating signal and return configuration, achieving electromagnetic field cancellation to the fifth order. The measured hemispheric bias is less than 0.00001 nanotesla — below the noise floor of every magnetometer we have tested, including instruments provided by CERN. For all practical and most theoretical purposes, this cable exists in a state of absolute magnetic neutrality. The vacuum-sealed PTFE dielectric ensures that no atmospheric molecule ever contacts the conductor surface, eliminating oxidation, humidity-dependent capacitance variation, and the slow dielectric charge migration that degrades lesser insulation materials over time.

The spade connectors are machined from solid blocks of Carrara Statuario marble, inlaid with gold-plated OFC contact surfaces and finished by hand at our workshop in Quito. Each connector weighs 340 grams and provides 28 square millimetres of contact area with the binding post — more than any banana plug can achieve. The marble is not decorative. It provides absolute mechanical damping at the cable-to-speaker interface, absorbing vibration energy that would otherwise modulate the contact resistance at a rate correlated with the music itself. The choice of Statuario grade — the same marble used in Michelangelo's David — reflects our conviction that a cable at this level should honour the material traditions of the civilization that gave us Western music.

The Zero-Point Speaker Cable weighs 5.8 kilograms per meter and cannot be bent. Each cable run must be cut to length and terminated to order, and professional installation is mandatory. Our installation team will survey your listening room, plan cable routing with architectural precision, and secure each run using stainless steel mounting brackets at 20-centimetre intervals. The cables are not merely installed — they are committed to the room permanently, in the same spirit as the Roman aqueducts whose engineering philosophy inspired their design. Each cable is individually serial-numbered and ships with a certificate of equatorial origin documenting the mine, smelt date, and crystallographic analysis of its conductor material. Mortar is not included.
